I like this product but it does require a little assembly. There is an issue I have seen a lot on the internet which I also discovered – a high frequency noise when the box is activated. Pro tools is a great recording daw but finicky sometimes. The FireWire interface handled everything we threw at it, including six outgoing audio streams at 96kHz.

It features six inputs, including two mic level inputs with phantom power and two DI level inputs on the front panel. Can’t say yet I am pleased with this purchase, still upgrading the computer stuff to run pro tools le8.
Runs on xp-pro and needed to buy a desktop made to run the program. The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended. This creates a ground loop and results in the high freq. There are plenty of software that accompanies the mbox that aslo facilitates easy work and editing. Only one phono preamp. The pro version is firewire.
This effectively means that the unit is ready for recording on the move straight out of the box.
The mbox was refferd dogidesign me by an up and coming music producer who felt that this item would serve me best because for just “getting started”. The headphone outputs are loud, and we preferred the sound of them to the headphone output on our Apogee MiniDAC, which was quite a surprise.
Show less Show more. Our Verdict Combining great features and superb sound quality, this is a great interface. My midi ports were also powered by the UPS. Sounds fine and is a great way to learn protools. Once your tracks are recorded, you can mix them professionally with the onboard effects that include chorus, delay, reverb, and three separate EQ options.
You may also like. Once I put the wall circuit computer and monitor and the amp on the UPS too the noise went away. I recommend that you do not do this. Cons Doesn’t support FireWire
